Babies in Cloth - Alberta, Canada
Babies in Cloth (BIC) has eight chapters throughout Alberta, Canada. Through the work of volunteers, BIC collects donations of new, used and in-need-of repair cloth diapers and cloth diapering accessories, that are then mended, when necessary, and bleach sanitized to package up in bundles of twenty to twenty-four cloth diapers (depending on availability and baby's age) for families that apply. There are no longer any Cloth for a Cause locations as any chapters that were still up & running have come under the Babies in Cloth umbrella in order to provide one great choice to Albertan families. Babies in Cloth chapters can be found in Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Fort McMurray and one combined chapter for the Bonnyville, Cold Lake and Lloydminster regions. Every location has its own Facebook page and can be found by searching the city's name with Babies in Cloth (links to each page can be found on our website). Babies in Cloth's mission is to help families with the rising costs associated with raising children by encouraging reusable cloth diapering. By collecting and loaning out gently used cloth diapers, we hope to offset some of the costs of baby's first 3 years. To apply for a cloth diaper package, applicants can go to www.ABbabiesincloth.weebly.com and someone will get back to them within 72 hours. Applicants can apply from any location in Alberta and do not have to reside in one of the cities mentioned; BIC has a small budget set aside for shipping to rural locations, when need be. Email addresses for each location can be found on the website but for general inquiries about any of the eight chapters, you can email info.YYCbabiesincloth@gmail.com.
